Escape to Italy: Escape to a beautiful, 17th century baroque
palazzo in the heart of the Salento Peninsular, Puglia.
We (Jim and Paul) bought the apartment on the TV show
A Place in the Sun with Amanda Lamb in 2006/7.
Since then, it's been completely
renovated and fully furnished to a very high standard!

Property Overview
The 1 bedroom luxury apartment is
self-catering, sleeps 2 to 4 people and is situated in a 16th century
palazzo in the historical centre of Galatina, Puglia. There are
original vaulted ceilings, 2 private roof terraces, a balcony over the cobbled
streets below, and right outside the door are shops, restaurants, cafes,
gelato (ice-cream) shops and much more!
Not only this, but the local scenery
is stunning. The property is a short drive to either the Adriatic or
the Ionian Seas. There are miles of beaches to explore, acres of olive groves, and vineyards
around every corner (with fantastic wine)!
News ...
The TV show first aired in April 2007, and we're really pleased with it
(the editors were kind!). It's a little embarrassing watching it back,
but how many people get their holiday footage
turned into an half hour show with Amanda Lamb presenting!

A lot has happened since April 2007, the property is now fully rennovated
and is looking absolutely fabulous. It even featured (all be it very briefly) on
Grand Designs: Trade Secrets in March 2008, with our award winning
architect and renovator, Nigel Wilson of Puglia Estates. Not only are we
chuffed to bits with the
stunning renovation, but feedback
from our guests has been extremely positive.
The private roof terraces are incredible, with amazing views
over Galatina and the surrounding countryside. Can you believe
that on our first visit to the completed property, within minutes
of us arriving, there was a firework display
on the outskirts of the town, with no better place to watch it
than our very own roof terrace!
The apartment includes two big handmade Italian leather
sofa-beds, the kitchen is well equipped with dishwasher,
washing machine and dining table and chairs, and the bedroom looks gorgeous
with huge antique wardrobe and big double bed!

We've also fallen even more in love with Galatina! We keep
finding new, amazing restaurants, incredible
furniture shops brimming with antiques, and even more cafes and bars
than we could ever have imagined. The town really comes alive in the
evenings, with concerts, dancing, talent contests, firework displays,
and a friendly, lively atmosphere.
Galatina is an ideal base for exploring the Salento Peninsular, with
miles of rugged coastline and beautiful white sandy beaches
all around the area. Both the Ionian and Adriatic seas are crystal
clear, with clean beaches and lovely warm waters ... perfect for a dip!

That personal touch!
The whole Puglian experience has had a huge impact on Paul (from
the show) who fell in love with the area so much that he moved
out to Galatina for over 2 years, whilst he enjoyed the dolce vita
and looked after our guests.
Since then Paul has returned to the UK, but
we are lucky enough to have a fantastic property manager who lives
locally, speaks perfect English (having lived in the UK previously)
and is available to meet you with the keys, show you around,
answer questions and add that personal
touch to your Puglian experience. How about arriving to a chilled
bottle of bubbly for that special occasion,
or a welcome food pack so you can settle in without having to worry about
a trip to the shops?
Finally, if you're looking to purchase property out in Puglia,
we may also be able to
set up some viewings for you. Why not get in touch and see if we can help.
